If you would like your child to attend Altona Kindergarten, then you will need to submit your application directly with Hobsons City Bay Council. We’ve provided you with everything you need here, including a guide to the enrolment process and the Council application.

Overview of the enrolment process – 4 yr kinder

Once your child is two years of age, you can apply for a place with our kindergarten program. To do this, simply complete the application form and submit it to Hobsons Bay Council, along with a non-refundable $18 administration fee. Forms can also be picked up and completed from Council reception. Don’t forget you need to include your child’s birth certificate or other proof of age along with the application.

Your child must be four years of age by April 30 in the year of attending Kinder.
Your placement offer will be mailed to you by council, towards the end of the year prior to the year your child is due to commence the Kinder Program.

If your child is offered a place

Once your child’s place in the kindergarten is confirmed, we’ll provide you with important information such as the date for the parent information session, and the orientation program for your child.
Places are awarded on a first come, first served basis, so we recommend that you submit your applications promptly.
