March 26, 2018This term at kinder, the children have been introduced to the concept of bucket filling. This wonderful idea helps to promote the importance of always being kind to others.
When we are bucket fillers we act in ways that make ourselves and others feel good about themselves.
Using words or actions to show that you care about someone, saying or doing something kind or helping without being asked are just some of the many ways to help fill both yours and someone else’s bucket.
Encouraging the children’s bucket filling helps them to feel more confident, calm, friendly and secure within themselves.
Conversely to bucket filling is bucket dipping. These actions are the opposite of bucket filling and will make both ourselves and others feel sad or angry.
Throughout the kinder year, the notion of bucket filling will continue to be encouraged. Not only is this a great concept for kinder but is an important reminder for the children throughout their lives to hopefully stop and think about the way they act towards others.
