Last week the children made a special visit to the Altona P-9 College to get a ‘taste’ of what prep will be like next year.
All the children were very excited at the prospect of spending the day at school and learning about what a school day involves.
Spending the day with the preps, the children read stories, sang songs about the days of the week and months of the year, practiced pattern making and colouring.
Most of all, the children enjoyed spending time with the year 9 kids in the gym playing games and doing lots of sports activities.
At the end of session, all parents were met with a chorus of “we can’t wait to go to school!”
We look forward to having the prep children visit us at kinder later in the year to read more stories with us.
We would like to thank the children and staff at Altona P-9 College for making us all feel so welcome, it was a wonderful commencement to school transition for all the children.
